Mishela Steiner's sophisticated repertoire demonstrates the possibilities of accordion playing outside current popular music.
It includes tango nuevo with compositions by Astor Piazzolla and new musette in its huge range with pieces by Lydie Auvray, as one artist also still very much associated with traditional musette, via the stylish works of Richard Galliano through to the complex interpretations of one Franck Angelis. Coming from the tradition of musette with his breathtaking rhythmicity on the same lines as elements of jazz, this modern French accordion composer is in the process of creating something completely new again.
In addition to the modern musical styles, works by Bach, Scarlatti, Schubert and Rameau are part of Mishela Steiner's programme.
